We work to make the sea accessible to everyone
We started on the beaches of Salento with a simple idea: to reduce the physical and financial barriers that keep many people away from the sea. Today we run inclusive social spaces and help beach resorts become more accessible.
Our story
From Salento to the Biennale, and back to the beach
OmbraSociale was created to promote an inclusive way of enjoying the sea. In 2025 the project was selected for the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale as an example of how public space, community and social sustainability can connect.
That same year we brought Cinema in spiaggia (beach cinema) to Rivabella di Gallipoli and, in 2026, to La Friscura, in Lido Marini di Ugento: evenings open to everyone, with universities, doctors, institutions and local associations.
What we do today
We offer accessible shaded spaces to people with disabilities, older people and families in financial hardship, creating a new model of welcome and solidarity that promotes social inclusion and adds value to the local area.

Technology
An accessible booking system, built with our partners
The technology side of OmbraSociale is a booking system for beach resorts that everyone can use. We are rethinking it and will develop it together with our first partners, starting from their beaches.
